Cathedral Strings is the resident string ensemble for the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit, Michigan. We also play at churches and venues all over the Metro Detroit area, Rochester, Ann Arbor, and all areas of Michigan and Northern Ohio.
With Cathedral Strings, you have lots of choices. We know that wedding size and budget come into play when planning the music for your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, etc. From solo violin to string quartet, we can customize options for you that will enhance and beautify your special day! See some options below.
Here are some ways you can personalize your wedding music:
Solo violin – for small, intimate venues and cocktail hours.
Violin Duet – two violins to add some harmony and depth to the music.
Violin/Cello Duet – adding the gorgeous low tones of a cello to the violin is a good way to expand the depth of sound while still only having two musicians playing.
String Trio – violin, viola, and cello – you’ll need the addition of the violin if you’re in a church our outdoor venue to give you that extra sound. There’s a lot of repertoire for this ensemble, but not as expansive as the string quartet.
String Quartet – 2 violins, viola, cello – this is where you get the full depth and repertoire of a classical ensemble. Most string ensemble music is arranged for string quartet and that includes more popular music. If your wedding is more than 100 people, in a large church, or outside, you should consider the string quartet for your event.
